Dear Pelham Families,
First, let me share the basics. This morning, the Pelham School Board approved a plan to pivot to remote.
Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24 be early release days to allow staff time to prepare materials for remote instruction and for special education services.
The Pelham School District pivot to remote instruction starting on Monday, November 30 and extending through at least December 11.
As a result, families and staff will have to manage a set of changes.
The early release on November 23 and 24 will follow the same schedule as is typical.
School buildings and the SAU office will remain open throughout this time period and will follow the same universal guidelines for staff and students using the school.
Preschool will remain in session during the pivot.
We will consider in-school special education services on a case by case basis.
The Family Choice decisions for Trimester 2 for grades K - 8 will continue as planned.
Frequent, detailed and clear communication from the Pelham School District administration is the most important element of this process. Additional information will be provided in the coming days to help families and staff manage this transition.

I am so proud of the work from staff, students and families that got us safely to this point in the school year. I am also confident that it is now time to pivot. The possibility of a pivot was always something we anticipated might be necessary. While it is disruptive to people’s schedule, it is necessary for the safety of our students and staff.
