Dawn Mead

Dawn Mead
Principal

Ms Dawn Mead, a New Hampshire native, began her career in education in 1989 as a social studies teacher at Nashua Senior High School, Nashua, New Hampshire, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Saint Anselm College. Ms Mead served as the Assistant Principal at Pelham High School during the 2018-2019 school year. She is honored and excited to be the Principal. She believes that PHS offers the best education, has an excellent faculty and staff, and amazing student body. She is #PelhamProud. During her twenty-nine years in the Nashua School District, Ms. Mead worked at Nashua Senior High School, Pennichuck Middle School, and Nashua High School North. In addition to her twenty seven years of classroom teaching, she served on many district and school wide committees such as Student Voice, Faculty Voice, and Competency Based Education Implementation. She is devoted to promoting a positive and inclusive school culture and served on the Changed Leadership Committee in her prior district. Ms. Mead was the recipient of the Donald Marquis Social Studies New Hampshire Teacher of the Year in 2012. She has served on NEASC visiting teams and presented at local and state conferences. Ms. Mead received her M. Ed. from Southern New Hampshire University. She has served as Department Head on the middle and high school levels, Coordinator of Adult Education, Summer School Principal, and most recently as an Assistant Principal at Nashua High School North. Ms. Mead believes in working closely with faculty and staff in the areas of social emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, as well as, culture and climate. Ms. Mead hopes students leave Pelham High School prepared for the challenges of life in the global digital world.

Adam Barriere

Mr. Adam Barriere began his career in education in 2006 as an English teacher at Pinkerton Academy in Derry. In 2017, he continued at Pinkerton Academy as an Associate Dean of Students before starting at Pelham High School in 2019. He earned his B.A. from Stonehill College in Easton, MA and his M.Ed from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. During his career, he has served on and chaired various committees focused on school climate and culture, student activities, and curriculum and instruction as well as serving as a 2 time class advisor. As a passionate believer in the power of education, he is passionate about promoting a positive school culture for all students and teachers. He has taught all grades at the high school level (9-12), worked as the summer school administrator, and has taught in adult education programs as well as teaching in the NH Community College System. This vast array of experiences allows him to appreciate a wide variety of learners and backgrounds. Mr. Barriere is committed to working with teachers, students, and their families to ensure everyone’s success.

Thomas Babaian

Mr. Thomas Babaian has been in education for over 30 years, most of them at Pelham High School.  He earned a B.S. from Plymouth State University and a M.A. from Concordia University, CA.  He began his career as a physical education/health teacher in 1992 at Salem High School, arriving to Pelham in 1994. Mr. Babaian has served in the Pelham School District as the head football coach for 23 seasons, a physical education teacher, and an administrator. Over the years, he has chaired committees, been a part of search committees, and contributed to the development of curriculum for the physical education department. In 2022, he began a new career as an assistant principal at PHS. Working in the Pelham School District has been a great experience and Mr. Babaian looks forward to the future of Pelham High School.

Kaite Carmody

Special Education Coordinator

Mrs. Kaite Carmody began her career in education in 2006 as an Special Education Vocational Teacher at Kearsarge Regional High School in North Sutton, NH. In 2009, she transferred to the Bedford School District where she had a variety of positions in her 14 years such as Transition Coordinator, Project SEARCH Program Manager and Life Skills Enrichment Case Manager and Program Lead before starting at Pelham High School in the summer of 2020. She earned her B.A. in K-12 Special Education with a concentration in Social Studies from New England College in Henniker, NH in 2006 and her M.Ed in Special Education from New England College in 2008. During her career, she has been an advocate for those students who need a voice and an out of the box thinker.She has immersed herself in Special Education at the high school level with a focus on Transition Services, she worked as the Extended School Year Coordinator, and has taught Social Studies in adult education programs, along with being a Certified Crisis Prevention Intervention Trainer. Mrs. Carmody is committed to working as a team and improving all aspects of the Special Education Process within the Pelham School District.  

Todd Kress

Director of Athletics

Mr. Todd Kress has worked in New Hampshire Education for twenty eight years, twenty four of those as a dedicated and proud employee of the Pelham School District.  He earned his BA in Mathematics from UNH in 1993, and his M. Ed. from SNHU in 2022.  Mr. Kress came to Pelham in 1998 as a math teacher and was also the varsity boys basketball coach from 1998-2010.  In 2010 Mr. Kress took over as the Athletic Director of both PHS and PMS.  He has now served as the Pythons Athletic Director for 14 years.  He earned his Certified Athletic Administrator Degree (CAA) in 2016 from the NFHS.  Mr. Kress serves on two NHIAA committees as well as being a part of the PSD Leadership Team.  In his twenty four years in Pelham, Mr. Kress has coached numerous teams, and was twice named Coach of the Year in D2 Boys Basketball in 2006 and 2009.  Mr. Kress is a passionate and loyal Python who will always be grateful for the opportunities Pelham has offered him.

Brian Kelly

Corporal Kelly began his career with the Pelham Police Department in August of 2007 and attended the 144th New Hampshire Police Academy.  During his time with PPD, he has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert (2010-2018) and spent a year in the Problem Oriented Policing Unit (2010-2011).  In August of 2011 Corporal Kelly became the Pelham Police Department School Resource Officer and has served in that capacity ever since.   During this time, he has taught the DARE program in the 5th and 7th grades, been a guest speaker in several PHS classes such as Health and Criminology and most recently has begun the process of implementing the Mirror Project at PHS.  Corporal Kelly also strives to maintain a safe learning environment for all students by training all Pelham School District faculty and staff and all PHS students in Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).  Since 2019, the Pelham Police Department has had two School Resource Officers with Corporal Kelly assigned to Pelham High School full-time.
