Pelham Memorial School News 7.01.2020

Dear Pelham Memorial School Families,

Happy July! I have two wonderful announcements for you.

First, I need to introduce myself to you. My name is Chip McGee and I am your brand new Superintendent. Mr. Furbush has taken a position in Epping to be closer to home. I am so excited to have the opportunity to serve this community.  I will share more about myself later.

Second, Ms. Maghakian will be on maternity leave into the fall. We are fortunate to have an experienced middle school administrator, Chris Mazzone, joining us as the Interim Principal during her leave.

Ms. Maghakian wanted me to share this message with you all:

As many of you know, I am expecting my second child this summer. I will be returning in mid-October. I am excited and encouraged that you will have Chris Mazzone leading the way during my time at home. I have every confidence that the students and staff of Pelham Memorial will be in the good hands of a strong leadership team with Mr. Mazzone and Mrs. Mackey.

Mr. Mazzone also wanted to introduce himself to everyone:

My name is Christopher Mazzone and I am pleased (and excited) to introduce myself to you as the Interim Principal of Pelham Memorial School. My family and I live in a small community very much like Pelham and I am excited to meet all of you. I have been a public school educator for nearly 20 years. I hold a BA in Psychology from Curry College, a Master's degree in Education from the University of New England, and I am near completion of my CAGS degree in Educational Leadership through Plymouth State University. I have spent the last eight years as an instructional leader at Newmarket Junior-Senior High School. My true passion is Middle-Level Education. I look forward to conducting the day-to-day operations of the school as we await Ms. Maghakian's return. As more details become available relative to school opening guidelines, I will be sending frequent updates. I would very much like to reiterate my excitement at the prospect of serving the good people of Pelham while we await Ms. Maghakian’s return.

Ms. Maghakian and Mr. Mazzone have already started planning for the transition and I am confident that the families of Pelham Memorial School are in good hands. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely

Chip McGee

Superintendent
