Absentee Line

If your child is going to be absent or late please call the CARE line. The number is 635-2321 and follow the prompts for absentee reporting and there is an answering machine on 24 hours a day. You can also call 635-2748 for the CARE line (if the message says enter your security code that means there is someone else on the line please try again). There is no shortcut key to skip the message.

You can also email the school nurse or the office. If you send in a note please make sure to send a copy to the office as teachers do not always pass them on. Please do not email teachers or case managers as they do not always check their messages before we start calling people on the CARE line. If you do email them make sure to CC me and the office. We are also tracking why children are absent. When you call in, leave a brief message as to why your child will be out ex: if it's a cold, stomachache, sore throat, headache etc. If you could also tell us why your child will be late, over slept, missed the bus, headache, doctor's appointment etc.

It is also important to know if your child has been to the doctor and what the recommendations might be while they are in school. This is especially important for concussion and illness that might be contagious such as strep or pneumonia, etc. For these I would appreciate it if you could bring me a copy of the doctor's order sheet with restriction etc.

We do this to make sure your children are safe. If you do not wish to participate please let the school nurse know so that we will not call you.
