What is the PHS Facilities Committee?

The PHS Facilities Committee was authorized by a warrant article on the 2008 ballot and was made up of community volunteers, a budget committee representative, a selectmen representative and representatives of the school administrations, and PSB member. Its purpose was to research school space options, and recommend a viable solution to Pelham High School?s space needs.

PHS Facilities Committee Recomendation: Town of Pelham should build a new high school on a new piece of land.

The High School Facilities Committee concluded that it is better to build a new school on a new site than to continue using the existing building as a high school.

Now that the committee has made its recommendation, what's next?

The PSB accepted and approved the building committee's recommendation of a new high school on a new site. The Pelham School Board has updated the PHS Facilities Committee's charge. The new charge is to promote, inform and engage the Pelham community on the recommendation of the Committee as accepted by the School Board.
